Jumbo Car Costa Rica puts your disposal 4 categories and Child and Baby seats :

• Carrycot or Maxicosy (Portabebé): 0-1 year old ; below 35 Lbs ; shorter than 2.5 Ft

• Baby seat (Silla) : 1-4 years’ old ; 20-40 Lbs ; 2.5-3.5 Ft

• Child seat ( Booster con respaldar): 4-6 years’ old ; below 40-55 Lbs ; 3.5-4.75 Ft

• Booster (Booster) : 6-12 years’ old ; below 55-80 Lbs ; 4.75-3.5 Ft

In Costa Rica, anyone under 12 years’ old and shorter than 3.5 Ft must use a child seat or baby seat depending on its age, weight, and how tall he/she is. It it prohibited to have a kid seating on your lap while driving, under penatly of great fines and for the kid’s safety.
You can sign up to this option when making your car reservation and ask for a seat at agency counter.

Warning: The installation of a child seat, infant seat, or booster seat must be carried out by the parent or legal guardian, as Jumbo Car staff are not authorized to install or adjust them.

• Child Seat must be set up back to the road. It is best to install it on rear seats on the opposite site of the driver. If there are several passengers in the car, it is best to install the carrycot in the center of rear seats with one passenger seating on each side.

• Baby seat must be set up face to the road, on the rear seats, preferably behind the front passengers' seat.

• Child seat with backrest must be installed on lateral rear seats.

• Booster without backseat must be set up on rear seats.

According to our Terms of Sales, there is only the driver(s) registered in the rental agreement who will cover by the insurances as driver. Should their be any trouble with the car or should you be controled by the police, the vehicle is only insured if this person as the driver.

The Additional Driver Option gives you the possibility to let someone else drive all along your stay in Costa Rica so you can enjoy the beauty of landscapes or rest if needed. Obviously, additional drivers benefit from the same protections as the main driver in case of accident.

To register, each additional driver must provide his/her ID/Passport and driving license on the day you pick up the car (a photocopy is not acceptable). If you wish to add an additional driver afterwards, it is possible but you will need to come in one of our agencies to show the original documents.

You can sign up to this option either online when making your reservation, or when you pick up your car at our Agency.

Jumbo Car offers 4G Wifi Hotspot to stay connected to the internet all along your trip in Costa Rica with no roaming cost !

At Jumbo Car we value children and baby’s conmort. This is why we offer a wide range of strollers and beds for young toddlers. Don’t bother bringing them along from home, we have it all here : stroller, pushchair, travel cot… Just tell us what you need ;-)

Because hygiene is our priority, each product is washed and disinfected between two kids.

You can reserve a stroller or bed when making your car reservation online or ask for one at agency counter. Please note that it is best to book it prior arrival to make sure we have some available.

Renting a cooler in Costa Rica is always a good idea for several reasons:

• If you are on a road trip and change accommodation regularly, you can store your food in the cooler

• It’s hot in Costa Rica, a bottle of fresh water is much appreciated on the return of a good hike

• If you go to the market for local produce, you can put it all in the cooler.

• Local juice in the evening at sunset on the beach is good. A fresh juice is even better!

The best is to rent the cooler at the same time as renting your car in Costa Rica. It is one of the options you can add after selecting your vehicle. If you’ve already booked your car without taking a cooler, that’s okay. You can always ask for it when you arrive on the JumboCar Agency or contact us to put one aside for you.
The option of the cooler to rent is 5USD extra per day.

You are a surfer and have rented a board for your stay? you will have to put it somewhere. The roof rack is made to put your surfboards so as not to clutter your rental car.

When you rent a car on the Jumbo Car Costa Rica website, check the “roof rack” options. This one costs 10USD per day.

Road Assistance anywhere you are in Costa Rica.

Should you be experiencing trouble with your rental vehicle, our office remains available to assist you anywhere you are : accident, breakdown, battery failure... Our staff will make the right decision with you and find a solution to fix your vehicle or get you a new one as soon as possible, free of charge.

• Should the car incident be your responsibility, you will be charged troubleshooting and damage costs.

• Should the troubles with rental vehicle be Jumbo Car’s responsibility, we will cover everything and you will not be charged anything.

You can sign up for this option when making your reservation or purchase it at agency counter.

Use a quick pass to never wait at road tolls and enjoy automatic payment in most parking lots. Just drive through and barriers will open up.Your expenses will be added to your rental contract and you can pay for it when you return the vehicle.Our staff will issue a bill with the statements and email it to you. Should you need the bill before, please email us at info@jumbocar-costarica.com and we’ll send it right away.You can order this option when making your rental booking (directly with us or with our partners) or you can purchase it at our office.This service is recommanded for business visitors and regular travelers who have many trips to carry on in GAM and must park quickly.

If you come from Europe, the plugs are not the same in Costa Rica. Indeed, in Costa Rica you’ll find the same plugs as in the USA. Don’t worry, you can buy a plug adapter in our agency when you arrive so that you can charge your phone, tablet, computers and camera. No worries !
